><p>El fen\u00f3meno de la fatiga en los materiales es un <strong>proceso de degradaci\u00f3n mec\u00e1nica<\/strong> caracterizado por cambios estructurales progresivos, localizados y permanentes cuando se someten a tensiones y deformaciones fluctuantes. Este fen\u00f3meno, observado a menudo en materiales sometidos a cargas c\u00edclicas, conduce a un punto cr\u00edtico en el que el material puede desarrollar grietas o acabar fallando, a pesar de que las cargas aplicadas permanezcan por debajo de la resistencia \u00faltima del material. <\/p>\n<p>En el curso de la fatiga, los materiales sufren deformaciones pl\u00e1sticas, que pueden manifestarse como deformaciones a microescala.
