someter a tensi\u00f3n a una probeta, induciendo un fallo por deslizamiento a lo largo de un plano paralelo a las fuerzas aplicadas. Normalmente, las fuerzas de cizallamiento hacen que una superficie de un material se mueva en una direcci\u00f3n, mientras que la superficie opuesta se mueve en la direcci\u00f3n opuesta, lo que provoca una tensi\u00f3n mediante un movimiento de deslizamiento. A diferencia de los ensayos de tracci\u00f3n y compresi\u00f3n, en los que las fuerzas son perpendiculares a las superficies de contacto, en los ensayos de cizallamiento las fuerzas son paralelas a <strong>resistencia al cizallamiento<\/strong> de un material, que representa el esfuerzo de cizallamiento m\u00e1ximo que puede soportar antes de fallar. Esta caracter\u00edstica tiene una gran importancia en el dise\u00f1o de diversos elementos de fijaci\u00f3n, como pernos y tornillos. Por ejemplo, en situaciones en las que un tornillo fija dos placas, cualquier fuerza paralela que act\u00fae sobre las placas puede someter al tornillo a fuerzas de cizallamiento. En este ensayo, la muestra se carga para que experimente un doble cizallamiento, con fuerzas aplicadas en dos puntos. Anclando cada extremo de la muestra, la fuerza se ejerce sobre la secci\u00f3n central, con el objetivo de eliminarla de modo que ambos extremos permanezcan intactos.  <\/p>\n<p>El <strong>segundo<\/strong> m\u00e9todo de ensayo requiere que la muestra tenga extremos c\u00f3nicos, cada uno de ellos insertado en fijaciones de agarre desplazadas del eje vertical de la muestra.
