La norme s&rsquo;applique aux mat\u00e9riaux plastiques rigides et semi-rigides et sert \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer leurs propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de traction et de compression. Les niveaux de contrainte et de d\u00e9formation sont inf\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 la limite proportionnelle du mat\u00e9riau, o\u00f9 les d\u00e9formations et les contraintes sont relativement \u00e9lastiques.  <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"QUELLES_SONT_LES_DEUX_PROCEDURES\"><\/span>QUELLES SONT LES DEUX PROC\u00c9DURES ?<br \/><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Le test est effectu\u00e9 selon deux proc\u00e9dures :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Proc\u00e9dure A<\/strong>, qui teste la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la fatigue en traction : un \u00e9chantillon de section rectangulaire ou circulaire est saisi par les extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s de l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon, tir\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re \u00e9gale dans des directions oppos\u00e9es, puis rel\u00e2ch\u00e9 dans sa position ou sa charge d&rsquo;origine. L&rsquo;\u00e9prouvette est soumise \u00e0 une charge cyclique en tension jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 un niveau de contrainte ou de d\u00e9formation sp\u00e9cifique \u00e0 une fr\u00e9quence uniforme jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce qu&rsquo;elle se rompe ou c\u00e8de. Ces essais permettent de d\u00e9terminer la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la fatigue \u00e0 un nombre d\u00e9termin\u00e9 de cycles. Au moins quatre niveaux de contrainte ou de d\u00e9formation diff\u00e9rents sont test\u00e9s pour construire une courbe de contrainte en fonction du nombre de cycles jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la rupture (S-N) ou une courbe de d\u00e9formation en fonction du nombre de cycles jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la rupture (r-N) afin de d\u00e9terminer la limite d&rsquo;endurance uniaxiale du mat\u00e9riau en tension.   <\/li>\n<li>La <strong>proc\u00e9dure B<\/strong>, qui teste la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la fatigue en compression, mais uniquement pour les mat\u00e9riaux plastiques rigides : une \u00e9prouvette de section rectangulaire ou circulaire est comprim\u00e9e de mani\u00e8re \u00e9gale dans des directions oppos\u00e9es et ramen\u00e9e \u00e0 sa position ou \u00e0 sa charge d&rsquo;origine. L&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon est soumis \u00e0 une charge cyclique en compression \u00e0 un niveau de contrainte ou de d\u00e9formation sp\u00e9cifique \u00e0 une fr\u00e9quence uniforme jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce que l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon se rompe ou c\u00e8de. Ces essais permettent de d\u00e9terminer la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la fatigue pour un nombre de cycles donn\u00e9. Au moins quatre niveaux de contrainte ou de d\u00e9formation diff\u00e9rents sont test\u00e9s pour construire une courbe de contrainte en fonction du nombre de cycles jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la rupture (S-N) ou une courbe de d\u00e9formation en fonction du nombre de cycles jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la rupture (r-N) afin de d\u00e9terminer la limite d&rsquo;endurance uniaxiale du mat\u00e9riau en compression.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Les essais comparatifs peuvent \u00eatre effectu\u00e9s selon l&rsquo;une ou l&rsquo;autre proc\u00e9dure, \u00e0 condition que la proc\u00e9dure soit jug\u00e9e satisfaisante pour le mat\u00e9riau test\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"POURQUOI_LASTM_D7791_EST-ELLE_IMPORTANTE\"><\/span>POURQUOI L&rsquo;ASTM D7791 EST-ELLE IMPORTANTE ?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>La norme <strong>ASTM D7791<\/strong> est importante car elle fournit une m\u00e9thodologie standardis\u00e9e pour l&rsquo;\u00e9valuation des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques des mat\u00e9riaux plastiques. Cela est essentiel pour garantir la qualit\u00e9 et la fiabilit\u00e9 des produits utilisant ces mat\u00e9riaux, ainsi que pour assurer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des consommateurs. En outre, la norme fournit une base commune pour la communication entre les fabricants, les fournisseurs et les acheteurs de mat\u00e9riaux plastiques, contribuant ainsi \u00e0 une plus grande coh\u00e9rence et fiabilit\u00e9 des r\u00e9sultats des essais.<\/p>\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats de ces essais ne sont utilisables pour la conception que si les conditions d&rsquo;essai simulent de mani\u00e8re r\u00e9aliste les conditions de service ou si une m\u00e9thodologie de prise en compte des conditions de service est disponible et clairement d\u00e9finie.<br \/> La proc\u00e9dure s&rsquo;adapte \u00e0 diverses techniques de pr\u00e9paration des \u00e9chantillons, mais les r\u00e9sultats obtenus par diff\u00e9rentes m\u00e9thodes ne doivent pas \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme comparables, \u00e0 moins que l&rsquo;\u00e9quivalence ne soit d\u00e9montr\u00e9e. <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"INFORMATIONS_COMPLEMENTAIRES_SUR_LASTM_D7791\"><\/span>INFORMATIONS COMPL\u00c9MENTAIRES SUR L&rsquo;ASTM D7791<br \/><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>La norme stipule \u00e9galement que les valeurs doivent \u00eatre exprim\u00e9es en unit\u00e9s SI et que les valeurs entre parenth\u00e8ses ne sont donn\u00e9es qu&rsquo;\u00e0 titre indicatif.<\/li>\n<li>En outre, la norme ne pr\u00e9tend pas r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 tous les probl\u00e8mes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 li\u00e9s \u00e0 son utilisation, et il incombe \u00e0 l&rsquo;utilisateur de mettre en place des pratiques appropri\u00e9es en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, de sant\u00e9 et d&rsquo;environnement et de d\u00e9terminer l&rsquo;applicabilit\u00e9 des limitations r\u00e9glementaires avant l&rsquo;utilisation.<\/li>\n<li>Il est important de noter qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;existe pas d&rsquo;\u00e9quivalent ISO connu \u00e0 cette norme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"QUELLES_SONT_LES_CONDITIONS_REQUISES_POUR_LEXAMEN\"><\/span>QUELLES SONT LES CONDITIONS REQUISES POUR L&rsquo;EXAMEN ?<br \/><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>En ce qui concerne la proc\u00e9dure d&rsquo;essai, la norme exige l&rsquo;utilisation d&rsquo;un syst\u00e8me de chargement uniaxial avec des capacit\u00e9s de tension et de compression, qui est utilis\u00e9 pour appliquer la charge au mat\u00e9riau d&rsquo;essai. Le test consiste \u00e0 appliquer une charge cyclique \u00e0 une fr\u00e9quence sp\u00e9cifique jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce que le mat\u00e9riau se brise ou atteigne un point de rupture sp\u00e9cifi\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de la mati\u00e8re plastique peuvent varier en fonction de la profondeur de l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon et de la fr\u00e9quence de l&rsquo;essai. Une fr\u00e9quence de 5 Hz ou moins est recommand\u00e9e pour les essais. La r\u00e9ponse du mat\u00e9riau \u00e0 la fatigue n&rsquo;est pas la m\u00eame pour tous les plastiques. Si une mati\u00e8re plastique n&rsquo;a pas de zone \u00e9lastique, une d\u00e9formation plastique peut se produire pendant l&rsquo;essai, ce qui oblige \u00e0 faire preuve de prudence lors de
