Elle implique l&rsquo;utilisation d&rsquo;\u00e9prouvettes pr\u00e9fissur\u00e9es par fatigue d&rsquo;une \u00e9paisseur de 1,6 mm (0,063 po) ou plus, soumises \u00e0 une force de d\u00e9placement de la fissure qui augmente progressivement.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"QUE_MESURE_LASTM_E399\"><\/span>QUE MESURE L&rsquo;ASTM E399 ?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>L&rsquo;ASTM E399 mesure la <strong>t\u00e9nacit\u00e9 \u00e0 la rupture<\/strong>, plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment le K<sub>Ic<\/sub>. La t\u00e9nacit\u00e9 \u00e0 la rupture caract\u00e9rise la r\u00e9sistance d&rsquo;un mat\u00e9riau \u00e0 la rupture sous l&rsquo;effet d&rsquo;une contrainte \u00e9lastique lin\u00e9aire et d&rsquo;une contrainte de traction s\u00e9v\u00e8re.
