A amostra pode ser submetida a estresse controlado ou deforma\u00e7\u00e3o controlada. No DMA, a propriedade viscoel\u00e1stica do material \u00e9 estudada pela aplica\u00e7\u00e3o de uma for\u00e7a senoidal (tens\u00e3o \u03c3) e pela medi\u00e7\u00e3o do deslocamento resultante. Para um s\u00f3lido perfeitamente el\u00e1stico, a deforma\u00e7\u00e3o e a tens\u00e3o resultantes estar\u00e3o perfeitamente em fase.   <\/p>\n<p>Para um fluido puramente viscoso, haver\u00e1 uma mudan\u00e7a de fase de 90 graus da deforma\u00e7\u00e3o em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 tens\u00e3o.
