><p>O fen\u00f4meno da fadiga em materiais \u00e9 um <strong>processo de degrada\u00e7\u00e3o mec\u00e2nica<\/strong> caracterizado por altera\u00e7\u00f5es estruturais progressivas, localizadas e permanentes quando submetido a tens\u00f5es e deforma\u00e7\u00f5es flutuantes. Esse fen\u00f4meno, frequentemente observado em materiais sujeitos a cargas c\u00edclicas, leva a um ponto cr\u00edtico no qual o material pode desenvolver rachaduras ou, eventualmente, falhar, apesar de as cargas aplicadas permanecerem abaixo da resist\u00eancia final do material. <\/p>\n<p>No decorrer da fadiga, os materiais sofrem deforma\u00e7\u00e3o pl\u00e1stica, que pode se manifestar como deforma\u00e7\u00e3o em microescala.
