break-words\">O mecanismo <strong>scotch-yoke<\/strong> gira em torno de um disco rotativo com um pino de compensa\u00e7\u00e3o que se encaixa em um jugo deslizante. \u00c0 medida que o disco gira, acionado por um motor el\u00e9trico por meio de uma caixa de engrenagens ou acionamento por correia, o pino de compensa\u00e7\u00e3o se move por um caminho circular. O jugo, limitado ao movimento vertical, transforma esse movimento rotativo em reciprocidade linear. Essa transforma\u00e7\u00e3o mec\u00e2nica produz naturalmente um movimento senoidal, que h\u00e1 muito tempo \u00e9 o padr\u00e3o para testes b\u00e1sicos de amortecedores.
